AED16B CURRICULUM & ASSESSMENT IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (3.0 AU)

In this course, students/student-teachers will have opportunities to develop and strengthen their knowledge, skills and dispositions/attributes in designing quality learning experiences for children. Students/student-teachers will explore concepts in curriculum and assessment in early childhood education (ECE) and understand the elements that contribute to quality EC learning experiences. They will also have opportunities to engage in and reflect on the design process as they design integrated play learning experiences that consider both children’s and teachers’ perspectives. We recommend that students who wish to pursue an EC minor complete AED16A and AED16D first because these two courses can greatly support you with AED16B, AED16C and AED16E.

Very interesting mod with an equally passionate instructor that makes lessons very engaging.
If your language skills (reading/writing) isn’t very good, the readings might be quite torturous as there are like 2/3 readings a week that are quite long so might find it hard to keep up.
Felt that I learnt a lot from this mod because the instructor is very open to everyone voicing out their opinions in class to debate different perspectives and is quite forgiving when it comes to students giving wrong answers/misunderstanding content.
Don’t think this mod is suitable for those looking for easy SUs as the workload for this mod is quite demanding.
