AGE08D DESIGNING LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS WITH THE INTERNET OF THINGS (3.0 AU)

This course aims to introduce participants to open-source sensors and hardware and help them design contexts for learning using such technologies. By the end of this course, you would be able to: 1. Describe how open-source hardware can be used in an inquiry-based STEM curriculum. 2. Design such a curriculum leveraging local micro-climatic data in alignment with Disciplinary Intuitions as a theory of learning. 3. Situate the curriculum you have designed within a broader understanding of the Internet of Things.

    Its a very hands on learning experience, no coding required. Learnt quite alot about IOT. Workload wise may be more intense than other NIE mods because there is essay, project and lesson plan. Teachers there are all very nice and helpful.
