    Instructor: Dr Mark Cenite
    Taken in Y1S1 2021

    Assessment format:
Weekly quizzes (open book, discussion allowed, 5 MCQ questions per week during tuts): 10%
    Class participation: 5%
    Test 1 (MCQ): 40%
    Test 2 (MCQ): 45%

    Notes on the course:
    – Lectures are pre-recorded, students are expected to watch lecture videos before going to tutorial
    – Tutorials are spent doing weekly quiz + applying lecture content to real life cases
    – Content covers topics like defamation, POFMA, freedom of speech laws etc.

    Pros:
    – Prof Mark is /amazing/, easily one of my favourite profs, he’s really chill and nice, super open to people asking him questions 🙂
    – There is a huge question bank with answers (separated by topic), which makes studying for exams relatively easier :”D
    – Tutorials are engaging! I don’t have an interest towards law but the in-class discussion/content is interesting (when it’s in-person, that is,,,)
    – Class part is less stressful, because he’ll just pass the mic around/ call people so everyone gets a turn
    – No readings

    Cons:
    – The tests require a lot of memory work, because some questions really do go down to the specific wording of the law (it really helps to be good at studying;;;)
    – Questions in tests usually focus on application, so cramming and regurgitation doesn’t really work in your favour either 😛

    My thoughts:
    – This was one of my pre-allocated mods, but I really enjoyed the class!! Might even go as far to call it my favourite class this sem
    – Word of advice: just do your work consistently and do the practice questions and you should be fine ^ ^
