DD1003 INTRODUCTION TO THE HISTORIES OF ART I: WESTERN ART HISTORY (3.0 AU)

This foundation level course will introduce you to the major western artists, art works and art movements that have influenced aspects of world art, design and society. You will have the opportunity to explore and engage with the concepts and principles embedded in western art history that will inform your future creative thinking in design, media and the creative industry. You will develop and apply your academic reading and writing abilities through independent research, critical thinking, oral presentations, written tests and assignments. This will provide a solid theoretical foundation for further studies in art and design.

    nanetti is alright, if there’s any gaps in understanding you can always go to ADM library to get resources. course is fine as long as you don’t get Cl*o as your tutorial prof, because if that’s the case you’re basically on your own. Unless you think her telling you her dog’s weight and how it’s scared of thunder in your week 12 tut instead of the actual essay requirements is useful. (she did not, in fact, know the essay requirements all the way to the end)

    The whole course was ok. Nanetti was not. He is knowledgeable but I have no clue whatsoever what he’s saying because of his thick accent. jesus.

    This mod is taught by Prof Nanetti, a lovable professor knowledgeable about western art. This mod is quite easy to manage, for you dont really need to attend lectures to do the work. Module assessments are very much self study anyway, its 1 group presentation and 1 final essay.
