HY0001 will introduce students to three major ethical theories’ utilitarianism, Kant’s deontology, and virtue ethics. Then, four weeks will be devoted to teaching the ethical principles underlying academic integrity, research ethics, and intellectual property. Finally, students will discuss issues related to the ethics of environmental sustainability and conservation. All the while, students will be challenged apply the ethical theories learned to concrete moral problems, including world poverty, corporate accountability and whistleblowing, and workplace discrimination.
everyone has to take this mod and everyone thinks this mod is useless. this mod is supposed to teach you about ethics but no one actually goes through the lams and the lessons. the only good thing about this mod is that it is online and that you can breeze through everything. important tip is to get the past year quiz answers from your seniors so that you complete the lams asap in the first few weeks and not have to touch this mod for the rest of the sem.
Mandatory mod for NBS. Pretty easy. Just have enough time to do your essay and watch finish the videos. Very much manageable. Pass fail so it is pretty ok. As long as you write a decent enough essy, you will get the full marks.

This course is about ethics and some philosophy, I usually just read the slides and answer the questions without viewing the videos. There is a 300 word reflection to be submitted by a certain deadline in order to pass this course.

This is yet another online pass/fail module. You will be randomly assigned to be in Group 1 or 2. The difference is just that you will have to write your response to the discussion question based on different videos & concepts. The discussion question requires a response of at least 300 words and the peer review requires a response of at least 100 words. It is very easy to scores full marks, as long as you do not plagiarise, fulfil the word count and answer the question. Do not try to lengthen your answer by repeating the question many times as that was what cost some students their full marks, according to the prof.
