While it may not be the easiest language class (hello cyrillic letters), the curriculum is suitable for complete beginners. I remember spending the first 2-3 weeks reciting the sounds of the various Russian alphabets before delving into the words. Tests were relatively doable and straightforward. I saw a scholar getting 98/100 for the Written paper so I think the difficulty can be gauged from there. (I scored about 70-ish? Careless mistakes included). eWorksheets (i.e online worksheets to be done after finishing a chapter) were pretty easy.

For oral 1, we were tested in groups and we had to answer 2-3 questions that will be asked by the tutor. After that, we had to read a dialogue that is completely in Russian. Before the oral 1, She gave a LOT of hints by asking us different questions in Russian before every lesson. Those questions later came out during the oral exams. For the group oral, we had to craft out a 7-10 mins skit in Russian. The tutor was very nice and approachable, and she does take memes very well. A lot of us liked to crack Russia-related jokes during classes and she usually goes along with them. (not sure how many times I internally sighed in class from the sheer amount of Putin jokes) I found this elective easier to deal with as compared to German, mainly because of the teaching style I suppose. хаха
